Just keep in mind that $300 a year is only $25/month.  That's likely as much as you'll pay for any service.  I used paycycle online for awhile and loved it ($35/mo) for ease of use.  Preferred it in fact to QB payroll which is quite unwieldy, and what I'm stuck using now.  (Since I married into a larger farm that already was using QB, and took over the books.  That's how things go.)

I'd like to add  one more thing....If you have employees....Quickbooks is VERY costly...Over $300/year for upgrades...and it doesn't work without the upgrades.  You can manually input FIT, SS, & MCAR, but it's very challenging.  If you do employees, consider a payroll service or ask your accountant what he/she would charge.

I know others have said it, but to J and everyone else who offered advice on accounting on the farm and business-THANKS bunches! This is invaluable advice from those of you "in the trenches"....it's so easy to take a recommendation that someone has not used, only to find out it doesn't work for you! ...Many, many thanks!
