Title: Chicks to chickens / feed question
We keep a small flock of chickens - for eggs and pest control.
Here is the feeding schedule I have always used: http://www.blueseal.com/livestock/poultry/feedprg.php
Starting on pellets too soon can be deadly (because the chicks could choke).

Hi,
My chicks are about 2.5 months old, and have all their feathers and are beginning to look like chickens. (just a bit mini). We got 1/2 pullets, 1/2 males, but haven’t separated them yet (about 100 total). We’re going to use pullets as layers, and males for meat. They’re all still eating starter feed (alongside foraging). When can I feed them broiler pellets and layer pellets? And I’m assuming I have to separate them before I change their feed, yes?
Thanks ,
Makenna
