I think Courtney is right. The plant has difficulty producing the new roots
it needs, growing new shoots and producing fruit at the same time. If you can
baby them along, watering and fertilizing carefully, it might work, but thats
not realistic. Best pinch off the old flowers. Once the plant has set new
roots, it will begin producing new flowers. You won't lose anything from
taking care of the plant.
