Put a full gallon jug of water next every plant or at least every other plant if you don't have enough jugs. Another layer of row cover will help as well.

I have a 18 by 42 foot high tunnel that I started planting tomatoes in. The tomatoes were hardened off and adapted to colder temperatures.  They were planted 5 days ago and cover with a single layer of row cover.  Last night I doubled up the row cover because it was going to get cooler.  Two nights ago it got down to 28 outside.  They were all fine. Last night it was clear, calm and COLD!  It was in the 23-24 range.  I am glad I covered up with another layer of row cover.

My question is this.  Was two layers enough inside the hoop building?  How low could it go without significant loss?  I am at work today so i can't go check them out.  My wife is going to vent the hoop building around noon today.  It is suppose to warm up to 55-60.

People tell me that the row cover and hoop building combined, I shouldn't have  a problem, but I am starting to freak out.  The forecast is for several more cold nights in the next 8 day forecast.  Should I add a third layer of Agribon 19?

Thanks

Jay
