Hi I was just thinking about using corn gluten myself  Fedco sells corn gluten it is 45$ for 50 pounds. 2000 pounds is 1600$.The application rate is  20 pounds per hundred square feet close to the time of weed germination .

Moderator I hope this is ok if not feel free to edit

Quoting the Fedco catalog  " Corn Gluten (10% N) Works as a pre-emergent weeds like dandelions, pigweed, and crabgrass by inhibiting root formation. Not recommended for use on existing weeds as the thigh nitrogen content makes it very effective fertilizer for leaf growth. Moisture is necessary for activation but too much moisture reduces effectiveness. Can be used in gardens for weed control once the desired plants are well established seedlings. A good practice would be manual cultivation followed by an application of corn gluten."

I know when it is used on lawns to kill broadleaf weds it takes a few years to fully control them. Hope this helps.
