Marty,
Also, i will hope to take some time (ASAP) to give my opinions
on the kid's garden project - can't yak now much.
In my previous life in CA, i was gardening teacher in a public Waldorf
Methods School - and loved working with the elementary kids - many inner city
kids from the hood! we had organic ( excuse me - "naturally grown") vegies,
flowers, small vineyard, beginning orchard, and Kindergarten Gardens.
It was fantastic for all. I have alot of unused ideas to
share.
Alas, here in KY Appalachia, no one would ever consider such as real
education, even in this mountain farmland. The kids simply are not farming
much, learning anything about growing their food supply for either home or
profit. The young ones are becoming quite clueless, and their grandparents
are passing on without such knowledge dispersed to them. AND the schooling
is abysmal!
Will write soon, or write me off list if not quick enough at: tonitime AT gardener.com
