Here's a link (below) to an article from Greenhouse Product News that discusses supplemental greenhouse lighting. The author, Eric Runkle of Michigan State, is a leading greenhouse specialist. His contact info is at the bottom of the article. They might want to pose their question to him. I've never heard of "beam flickers". Perhaps he knows what they are.

Help   My son-in-law and daughter are starting their own greenhouse business in central Wisconsin.  They are in the process of planning their greenhouses.  He wondered if I had any information on "beam flickers".  They are a high pressure sodium bulb of some sort.   I am asking if any of you know about these or have had any experience with them.  He says they are a little pricy but wonders if they are worth it.  I think they would like to grow some tomatoes in the winter and are interested in how much light is needed and if the "beam flickers" would be worth the investment.  Thanks
