Where is your operation located in Arkansas? I'd like to know more about what you are doing and how. Are you using a website to market your baskets? How do you manage providing baskets year-round.

What I meant to say is that there is a large-scale
family farm in Arkansas that started a "basket a
week" and it's be a smash hit for their income
and customer base.
I'm an agriculture specialist sometimes involved
with organizing meetings. We had Mr. Jody Hardin come speak at the AR-OK horticulture growers conference earlier in January.
Jody started the basket-a-week program to enhance
sales for Hardin Farms in Central Arkansas, located
near the Arkansas River around Litle Rock. They grow a
lot of crops and they do a Fall Harvest theme
with pumpkins.

The baskets are sold thru Hardin's River Mercantile,
an urban store for Hardin Farms produce.

They grow vegetable as part of the basket and they source other foods from local growers
such as goat cheese, lamb meat, organic brown rice, eggs, etc.
They will be starting a Turkey CSA in 2007,
raising rare breed turkeys.

Good luck,
