- Subject: [Market-farming] keeping squash/zukes/cukes crisp

We have a walk-in cooler, kept colder than
is ideal for squash but I hate to run old refrigerators while also running the
cooler. The veggies are kept in Buckhorn lidded crates. I have draped towels
over the crates to keep them warmer/less susceptible to the fan, etc, but the
squash get soft within a day. How do ya’ll keep the squash family crisp
between market days (twice a week). Thank you. Beth Spaugh |
