Subject: [Market-farming] Sandea
Jay... Sandea is not related to 2-4D. Its a completely different chemistry
and a different mode of action. I do not recommend using 2-4D anywhere near a
vegetable farm the chance of vapor drift is not worth the risk. Sandea comes
in 10 ounce bottles, its a dry dispersible granule and sells for around $400
and treats 20 acres... Bob.
Sunny Meadow Farm
Bridgeton, NJ.
Thanks Bob.
I assume Sandea is similar to 2-4-D in that it kills only broad leaf
weeds; however I don't think 2-4-D is effective against nutsedge.
Is Sandea safer than 2-4-D and how expensive is it per quart?
Jay
Jay, Sandea does not kill grasses, it works well on nutsedge pigweed
velvetleaf ragweed jimsonweed coclebur and gallensoga. It will slow down
morninglory and very small lambsquarters... Bob.
