Pumpkins grow well on flat land as long as the area does not flood or hold
standing water and if no phytophthora is in the soil. Start with transplants
in cell paks I would not risk direct seeding in the field without water.
Around here dry soil years always make the best pumpkin crop... Bob.

I have a new area that'll be planted in pumpkins, about a quarter acre. The
land has been tilled and disked to make it level. What do you think about
planting as it is now, without listing? In other words, no beds. This,
like everything else around here, will be a dry land crop, no irrigation.

Thanks
