I considered doing this but finally ended up buying a 20 lbs bag of from http://www.mycorrhizae.com/.  Evidently, you can propagate mycorrhizal fungi with any number of plant species and culture techniques. Another source is http://www.bio-organics.com/

I think it is equally important to do or not do what is necessary to maintain mycorrhizae in the soil - limited or no chemical fertilizers or pesticides, limited or no tillage, maintain constant plant growth (no bare soil). Mycorrhizal fungi can make up to 70% of the microbial biomass in the soil, probably in mature forest ecosystems. Mycorrhizal fungi grow much better with humus (not just organic matter) and certain other types of bacteria.

Hi

Has anyone had experience producing their own mycorrizal fungi inoculant using the bahia grass method described in the New Farm article referenced below? Would anyone recommend a place to purchase the bahia grass, the spores, or both?

Thanks
