I've been battling the deer for 30 years now and lately have been having
reasonable success with a product called Plantskydd. It's blood meal
based mixed with an oil that allows the product to dry on the plant and
stay on through rain/snow. It's used in larger nursury situations where
fencing is prohibitive. I actually got to keep my raspberries this year.
A well trained dog is also indispensible. Deer are creatures of habit and
it is said they only travel within a mile of their birth place. By
establishing my borders/perimeter...they can be trained to stay out.
