What would be the difference in equipment between hard and sweet cider? I have done a lot of cider pressing on a small scale and have made both sweet and hard cider from the same equipment. Hard cider is just a fermented type of sweet cider and you have to have sweet cider in order to make hard cider.
You do need carboys or some other container and air locks to ferment cider to make it hard (and champagne or wine yeast for really good hard cider) along with bottling equipment that you can get at any home brewing/wine making store.
