Well, that market has a long history. The same woman has been in charge
for 30 years...she calls herself Market Mommy. The market is a group of
friends, backyard gardeners, who get together to socialize, not sell. It's
held Fridays 10-2, in an obsure location outside of town, she doesn't
advertise or have any signs (not one), and doesn't collect any vendor
fees. They are small and cosy and don't have a lot of pesky customers
annoying them, and they like it that way.

They had a larger vendor come in...he grows some produce, and gets some
from his brother downstate, but much of his stuff was bought wholesale.
Besides violating their 'local' policy, he made the rest of them look bad
:-). He did attract a lot of customers. He also has a farmstand, so, I
guess just to make sure he couldn't sneak back into the market, she kicked
him out and changed the rules to exclude any 'larger' vendors or vendors
with farm stands. There were one or two other Farmer's Markets in the
county that I don't think made it all the way through the season. A sorry
state of affairs.
