Right, right, right, RIGHT!
I guess I was hoping to find someone reading this list on the weekend who has already asked their certifier about 'modern pressure treated wood.'
Unfortunately, I emailed my certifier about this a week ago and have heard nothing.
Thanks -Allan
Are there now fence posts avaialable at places like LOWES that are
safe to use in organic gardens? Are these post approved for use on
certified farms?
Check with your certifier before using any treated post, even if somebody else tells you it's OK.
If you're not certified or considering certification, but just want to know whether there's an acceptable product, ask any organic certifying agency active in your area; they should be able to tell you.
Or, use untreated rot-resistant wood (locust is the best around here); or maybe metal or even plastic posts, depending on the use.
