No chickens.

No Guineas

No Geese.

The chickens eat the asparagus.

The guineas peck at it

And the geese stomp on it.

I learned the hard way.


(that said, once the plants are 3 or 4 feet talk geese are great for the task of eating young weeds, though, by then the weeds that started up with the asparagus have choked it out).
