Good afternoon. The last two Saturdays at our farmers' market have
been cold, and worse, windy. The wind takes a terrible toll on fresh produce -
even when the temperatures are very cool. I'll bet some of you have some
really good tips for keeping produce fresh looking while displaying it for the
consumer. Looking ahead, keeping it cool will be important soon, also (at
least we are HOPING it is going to warm up soon). Would you mind sharing your
expertise? Most important to us is heads of leafy lettuce, cut herbs
and root veggies with the tops left on. We like to make beautiful displays in
baskets to bring in the customers, so they need to be seen, but protected from desiccation. Thanks in advance! Alison Wiediger, Au Naturel Farm Alison Wiediger, |
