One of the growers I work with in the Chicago Metro area is in the middle of
Naperville, a very large suburb which was rated in a national survey as the
best place to raise your children in the country recently (Don't ask me, I'm
just relaying it). It's very middle to upper middle-class. He has about a
dozen Hi-Tunnels on his 18 acre farm in the middle of town. He has never
suggested people complain about them. The tunnels are the focus of my
working relationship with him so I'm pretty sure I would have heard about it
if it were a problem. I suspect that people are grateful enough for the
quality produce that, even if there were concerns about the "appearence" of
the tunnels, they know what the benefit is.
