I am late responding, but wanted to make a suggestion to the person having problems with skunks and raccoons in the cat house. Have you thought of not leaving food out 24/7? Dry cat food (kibble) is just about the worst thing you can feed a cat anyway - better is canned cat food - better yet is a raw diet. In any case if you feed the cats twice a day, and take up the food when they're all done eating (or only put out what they will finish off), you should eliminate the varmints' reason for raiding the cat house in the first place.
It's less convenient, of course, but also better for the cats. If you switch them to a carnivore appropriate diet (not always an easy task!), you will save yourself the inconvenience of most, if not all, vet visits and health problems in your cats. Your vet is not likely to agree.
