I have compiled information about corn shoots, sunflower shoots, pea shoots, and microgreens, some of it from Growing for Market articles (thanks Lynn!). Would be glad to send on request. Please request off-line via ATTRA's toll-free number 1-800-346-9140 or e-mail to me. The quick explanation of the basic process: the seeds are spread in flats of soilless mix, kept moist, and the baby plants are cut when they are 2-6 inches tall, depending on what you are growing.

I don't grow sweet corn because of limited space, but have a chef who would like sweet corn shoots. Seems to me they could be spaced close together and would not take the space for long in the season. Can anyone give me advice about cultural methods and any particular varietal characteristics to look for please?

Thank you.
