I was raised in the Mennonite tradition and have lived most of my life in an
area where there are lots of Mennonites and Church of the Brethren folks all
around us. Mennonites and Brethren customarily worship on Sundays just like
those of most other evangelical protestant denominations. I think you are
confusing Mennonite/Brethren denomimations with the Seventh Day Adventists
who do indeed keep Saturday as their sabbath.

At any rate it is interesting to learn that the folks at Baker Creek Seeds
are Mennonites or Brethren. My impression is that Baker Creek caters mostly
to small gardeners who order small amounts of specialty (rare heirloom)
seeds rather than to larger scale producers who order in larger volumes and
are more likely looking for production oriented hybred varieties. Though
their seed is expensive and understandably so, I may want to order a few
things from them as I philosophically support the idea of preserving some
heirloom seeds and I have repeatedly been given the impression that they are
a reputeable company.

Oh by the way a lot of businesses in our area close at noon on Saturdays
just so they or their employees can attend to home chores or do other things
they need to do in order to get ready for Sunday, not because they are
observing their sabbath.
