(I live in northern Pennsylvania.)

I'm convinced (about the coyotes vs. cats) too.

Our cat stays pretty close to home and spends all her nights
indoors. We've trained her to come in around 3:30 pm for
her dinner. I hope this will protect her from coyotes. So
far so good.

We live on the fringes of a town and I don't think coyotes
come this close to town in the daytime - at least, I've
never seen one nearby. We have two large dogs, who are
fenced but pretty alert to comings and goings in the
neighborhood, especially canine comings and goings, so
they'd probably have a discouraging effect on coyotes as
well.

I've never heard coyotes nearby either, although my husband
heard them here once (at night), and our neighbor saw one
about 1/2 mile from here. They're definitely in the area.
