Look closely at your plants. If the flea beetles are nearby, they're probably on your plants. They are very attracted to them. If you've never seen them, they're very small, usually black, and jump like a flea about the time you get close enough to see them. If you don't see them on the plants, you should go ahead and put up the row covers. Then check them later in the day to see if they showed up anyway. If they still aren't there, you got lucky!

Subject: [Market-farming] row cover and Arugula

Due to bad weather and a child emergency, I did not get my row cover on the Arugula the day that it was planted. Everything that I have read says that it must go on the day of planting to protect from flea beetles. The seedlings have just emerged. Is it too late to put it on now or will it still help???
