Tomatoes love basil, it's a good mix for food use, and the "bushiness" of
the basil should hide the lower stems of the tomatoes which can get
unsightly later in the season.

Pepper grow 3-4 feet high and 18+ inches wide for us, so we usually plant on
18-24" centers to give them air flow.

Well-grown okra shades too much for something growing underneath it.
