Hi Bob,
An easy way to get around the scale is to sell your things by the piece.
Granted that's a little hard to do if you have greens & loose leaf lettuce.
I used to weigh mine, bag them and price by the bag.
I see you're in New Jersey, and they do require scale inspection. Before
buying a scale I'd contact them first. They'll give you a heads up on what
scales they prefer based on consistency and quality. I'd also check out
Ebay.
