CAUV stands for 'Current Agricultural Use Valuation.' We are in Ottawa
County, Ohio; I believe the program is statewide and beyond that I am
clueless. If the land is being used solely for ag purposes, the property
taxes are a little less. And yes, once the land is taken out of CAUV, the
county gets you for recoupment of the past three year's tax savings.
