I used to farm in the Easton area, before the stupid highway was built. The glacial silt loam soils around there are very high in potassium, magnesium and calcium, making the very best tomatoes in the world. Goodluck, watch out for late blight its back after 5 years and is working its way around the hills of eastern PA.
Late planted tomatoes are coming on good and prices may fall....Bob.

I sell my cherry, yellow pear, 4 oz. salad-type and roma tomatoes at a growers-only farmers market in Easton, PA for $2.50 / qt. box. (approx. 1 lb.) My huge supersteaks (avg. 1.5 lbs.) I am selling for $1.50 - 1.75 apiece, although, with the rain having ruined most locals' tomatoes, and bound to mine, I may raise those prices by 20-25% next week.Dratted rain!!!Shelley Strohl
