When I lived in Colorado, the city of Applewood would have a ciderfest every
fall, where folks with cider presses would come in and everybody would make
wonderful cider. The kids loved to turn the cranks, and everybody drank lots
of apple juice and had a great time. A local stable would pick up the
pressed pulp for horse feed, so it was a big success all around. Of course,
this was sponsered by a municipality, presumably who had appropriate
insurance, but it was a highlight of the year in Applewood, which we all
remember fondly.
If you can work out the insurance angle, I'd say do it! Ought to generate
lotsa good vibes...
