It's a different animal, requiring a real seed bed to operate, but I'm really happy with the precision seeders I got from Johnny's. Only complaint: parts are expensive and hard to come by (I inherited mine. Someone had failed to back-off the brushes and now they are curled, making adjustment impossible. Johnny's has supplied ONE brush to date out of an order of FOUR. (And at a cost of $8.50 plust post, I might add) Otherwise, I plant out of a packet into a space. it's AMAZING how much better stands I get with fewer seeds over broadcasting, by using the precision seeder!!! (astounding, actually) -Allan
