Allan:

Compost in the soil mix in the beds, compost as a top- or
side-dressingl Liquid fish and seaweed if I need more. Foliar fish and
seaweed are also useful. I don't worry about using liquids in deep
beds as long as I water well. If you see the slightest hint of salt
build-up, you know you've done too much. Leach the beds in that case.
But if you use only what the plants need, you won't build up salts.
