Moving right along with that question: it is possible to plant cloves for green garlic in the spring, isn't it? WHen planting for green garlic, is it practical to buy a case of organic garlic from the food coop and plant those cloves?
Thanks -Allan

If I read this right, John is talking PLANTS and Marie is talking SETS. Sets come into our hardware stores this coming week. $25 for 25lbs is about the best deal I can work right now. I was going to plant a couple of bags now for scallions and what have you and plant a couple of cases of starts from plantfields later.
My thinking is that sets do better in questionable weather (ie I can plant them now under the row covers where the brocolli died last month) and give bunching onions sooner.
Am I wrong? Should I stick with plants?
thanks -Allan
Hi All,Return-Path: <wshoemak AT inil.com>
Might want to try Evans Plant Co. ((912) 382-1337 and Piedmont Plant Co, www.plantfields.com ,
I have had pretty good success on with transplants on both sandy and clay soils.

In my earlier post I said that cabbage and cauliflower were the same
species. My mistake, they aren't. However, broccoli and cauliflower are the
same species. I guess I was having a "golden" moment.

Though cauliflower is the same species as cabbage and broccoli, it reallyis
more tender.
