Discounts do work if you use them properly.

Discounts can work against you if you abuse their power.

Discounts work best when advertised widely and
when the product being sold has a quality brand image.

Think of the subject this way (ignore the fact that it may not
apply to you in your specific case):

If you buy Kellogg's Corn Flakes at their normal
price of $ 5.00 box, would you not buy them at
a 50 % discount and feel as though you got a
bargain?

If you don't buy Kellogg's Corn Flakes, substitute
the name of the highest quality nationally advertised
food product you buy at it normal price and ask
yourself the same question.

Discounts are like 1,500 HP racing cars. With the
right driver, records are set. In the wrong hands
racing careers are finished early.
