I got some stackable plastic flats from CSA Works in Massachusetts
several years ago. They are shallow, for one layer of tomatoes only. I
also use the for peppers, eggplant, cherry tomatoes . . . Not especially
convenient to pick into if I am carrying them, but would be great if
walkways were wide enough for a cart.

I sell at the Fayetteville, AR, farmers' market. It has been operating
about 30 years, but we are always looking for new ideas. We would like
to learn how others assign spaces and about fee structures. Last week I
found a great resource on the web: A new publication by Neil Hamilton.
Farmers' Markets Rules, Regulations and Opportunities. 47 pages at
<www.NationalAgLawCenter.org>. Or phone 479-575-7646. Dr. Hamilton is
the same who write The Legal Guide for Direct Farm Marketing, also a
wonderful reference.
