You can use a round tank if you put it in a milk crate first and then attach
it to the back pack. I have used flame weeders for twenty years and never
heard of a problem when safety valves are used. I would not feel any safer
being 3 feet away from an exploding tank than if it was on my back. No one
appears worried about blowing up when barbequing, when the operator is often
drunk, so why be any more concerned when weeding if you have common sense.
Some folks have built a wheeled caddy for the nozzle to maintain a constant
distance from the soil which is critical to effective weeding.
