Rick,
A couple of options for attaching signage to containers.
1. Can you get a black "alligator clamp" from an office supply house
over the lip of your baskets? If so these are nice and neat. The
clamps come in various sizes.
2. If you can insert a stick into the contents of the basket you can
make up laminated signs which are attached to the stick with an
alligator clamp. To attach the alligator clamp to the stick go to the
electrical dept of a hardware store and buy the smallest size black
nylon ties that they make. These are UV stable and unlike rubber
bands, will not break down in short time. For the sticks, buy 1/4"
dowels, or for a more rustic look use bamboo stakes which you can buy
in garden centers.
3. For the signs, use laminated cards, they look nice and last long.
You can buy laminating sheets at an office supply store. You can
write on them with a Dry Erase marker if you have changing prices (I
got an e-mail this week from Brother promoting a $19 laminating gadget
of some sort)
4. For small signs try the $29 label maker made by Brother. They are
waterproof, very nice, and easy to use. These could be used n
conjunction with the laminated cards.
