Joan,
The idea about the false bottom is an excellent one as it allows you
to slide the tables out first and thus avoid having to handle
everything twice. Think of the time this will save.

At a market I helped at last year they supplied the lightweight
plastic folding tables that are available from Sam's Club, Home Depot
and Lowess and they are wonderfully strong yet compact and
lightweight. If anybody is using the older tables I would suggest
replacing them and saving your backs. They come in 4', 6' and 8' with
the 6-footer costing around $50 at Sam's. They're worth every penny.
