If the seed was fresh you should have no problem germinating seed check with
your seed supplier on the quality of that lot of seed, your soilless mix is
fine, keep seed debth at 1/8" and shade seed trays from direct sunlight, I
have often seen summer seedings cook in direct sunlight, its getting late to
seed leeks now for most folks in the USA, because it takes up to 16 weeks to
get a field quality transplant, around here most leek growers seed in late
April to May and field plant in early Sept and over winter unprotected for
spring harvest...Bob.
