It's that time again when the hard neck garlic sends up its flower stalks.
So is anyone having luck selling their scapes? I doubled the price and
make up nice 1/2 pound bundles (using a scape to tie up the bundle) and
have sold many bundles at $4 ea. One woman made scape pesto which sounds
yummy. I have been pickling them in a curry brine (water, vinegar,
kosher salt and a tbl spoon of curry powder per quart jar) and using
them like garlic. Tonight I stuffed a chicken with them.
