Marie etal,

Based on the deer herd that seems to be resident here (many in plain view
and hundreds of tracks)
I am sure once we get up and running here, we are going to have to deal with
this sooner or later too.

Having once lived next door to a "farmer" (in quotes because, as near as I
could tell, his biggest crop was business connections and political allies)
who had a conservation permit to shoot deer (and abused it)-
I found "leaving them lay where they land" creates, several problems. It
attracts all sorts of undesirable wildlife, including feral dogs and
vultures, and if you or your neighbors have dogs that are allowed to roam,
they are very likely to eat an unhealthy amount of the remains. Not to
mention the smell, and the diseases that could come along with decomposing
carcasses.

I have however found that if you aim "Just right" you can make them land in
the freezer.
