7 days a week! I must be doing something wrong because I can't figure out
how I could do much more than I do now and a second day every week would max
me out quickly! I spend a day harvesting for the one market I now do and I
suspect I'm a slow harvester but I want my veggies clean and nice looking
since we get a premium price.
Its not just the harvesting and being away, its also the extra amounts to be
grown to satisfy a full-time market.
How much extra help do you have Phil - on the farm? How big an area are you
growing? Are you mechanized? I read all the time in GFM about people who
do multiple markets every week so I'm sure it can be done, given enough
help.
We are once again under a pretty good snow cover, but I bet you have more!
I fired up the tiller Sunday and put the sickle bar on it to cut raspberry
plants and I can still feel it in my arms - this winter has really left me
out of shape!
