Hi. You can put the seeds in a small amount of moistened peat moss and put
that in a zip-lock plastic bag. Check every so often to be certain that the
peat moss is still moist. When you take them out after the 30 days, use a
moistened chop stick to lift them out of the peat moss and plant them. Dust
the remainging peat moss over a flat to avoid missing any seeds. If you are
worried about seeing the seeds in the peat moss, use moistened vermiculite.
If you have extra fridge room (not likely, I know), you can also enclose a
planted flat in a plastic bag and stick that in the fridge. If you begin to
grow lavender in quantity, remember that you can seed it in flats in the
fall and hold it over the winter in unheated cold frames --as long as you
vent on sunny days so that the medium doesn't overheat.
