Liz,
We have "glacial till" here with lots of various sized rocks. We collect
them in piles by size and use them to hold down ground cloth, as bases for
concrete or gravel floors (so far have used 5 or 6 cubic yards for that
purpose, saving quite a bit of money in gravel and concrete in the process),
for rock walls, and in general landscaping (around ponds).
Even rocks so large that our small tractor can barely push or roll them have
been useful.
We used to think that these were a real hassle, but they have become an asset!
