Hi Patrick, at our farmers market we must carry an organic certification and show it to the manager before we are even able to write the word 'organic' at the market grounds. If one of the vendors does advertise his/her product as being organic without prior permission then they are closed down for that day. They can come the next market day and show their certificate or sell like the rest do. If they have another infraction of the rules they are no longer allowed to sell again. Here in our province we are not allowed to claim organic unless we actually are. Jacqueline

As a member of the board of directors for the Carrboro Farmers Market it has been suggested that we create a policy to deal with those who sell organic products and who can display the label due to the new regs. In the past we have had a hands off approach.
My question is what are other markets doing or thinking of doing concerning the new regs. and who can display the organic label?
