I'm forwarding this information to the market-farming list in case anyone out there is interested. There is some great funding through this portion of USDA, IF you can get your local extension office, ag school, etc. to work on a project with you.

Blessings,
Ava

We have extended the proposal deadline for IFAFS proposals from May 8 to May
22, 2000, and we have added a new program area, entitled "Critical and
Emerging Pest Management Challenges," to our RFP. All proposals that can be
submitted to this new program area could have been submitted to other IFAFS
program areas, but this area adds more focus. Please contact us, if you
have trouble deciding to which program area to submit your proposal.

The revised RFP (including the deadline change and new program area) is now
available on our web page (WWW.reeusda.gov/ifafs). However, if you have
already downloaded the original RFP, you need not download the Revised RFP.
Instead, there is a Supplement that contains all the changes to the original
RFP (with corresponding page numbers) that you can download off our webpage.

Also, please check out the web page for updated information concerning
funding for IFAFS (under "Update on Funding"). There will be news
concerning a recent action by the Senate that is not included in this
update; please stay tuned.

Finally, the Delaware WebCast has been rescheduled for April 10, 2000
between 1 and 4 pm EDT. All previous reservations for simultaneous use
should hold. New slots may still be available; please contact nye AT udel.edu.
You may also choose to download the conference from
http://ag.udel.edu/workshop, which is currently password protected but will
be open to the public after the WebCast. Questions can be sent during and
after the conference to the above email, fax numbers (which will be posted
during the WebCast), and /or to the individual program directors (contact
information will be provided). Responses to questions may be possible
during the WebCast but most definitely after the WebCast.

That's it for now!
