I am having trouble with one of those heater wires to heat sand up to a high
enough temperature to start seeds (not to mention the logistics of the frame
to hold all the sand and coils, etc.)
are any of the following hare-brained ideas feasible?
how about a king-sized waterbed with the bladder filled up say 2-3 inches
with seed-starter trays on the top of it (Thrifty Nickel cost for a
king-sized waterbed complete with canopy and mirrored headboard, heater,
bladder, liner, etc. only $200 --- less than heater coils for similar square
footage?)
how about using a waterbed heater under a plastic wading pool to warm the
pool and the sand and putting the trays in the pool?
anybody out there doing "outside the box" seed starting?
