They will germinate best with a germination mat at 80 degrees. We have our
mats at about 72 because we germinate a lot of different things. Them we
leave the peppers on them as long as we can. Our greenhouse is set at 50 -
so they are cool at night. It gives us nice stocky transplants, but we know
it takes about 9 weeks to get a good field transplant under those conditions
and seed accordingly. The only one we have trouble with is HAbanero - it
just needs the heat, and usually catches up about 4 weeks after we
transplant into the field.
