Lock washers or flat washers or hardened flange nuts

Lock washers or flat washers or hardened flange nuts for mounting a chuck on a backlate

Lock washers at proper torque are the same as flat washers. They won't do anything to prevent the nut from coming off and in some cases will cause it to loosen faster (which is why NASA doesn't use them).
