I'd find it hard to live without animals of all kinds. And those that are able have to work for a living here. We do that too.

Our old farm was a regular zoo with more than 20 species doing their bit. We are a long way away from that but give me long enough and we'll get there. Sometimes you pick up injured wild life and they sometimes decide to hang around after healing.

but they missed some of the most important. You don't walk on the growing soil & you don't compact the soil, for better root systems. You don't need to cultivate the aisles, no need for tiller cost. You concentrate water & amendments on the beds instead of aisles. You can do intensive planting instead of 18 inches between tractor rows, resulting in much higher production overall. And the sides hold mulch in place, saving water & shading shallow roots.
