The link opens with how to save tomato seeds and I have to notice that my own method is much simpler and 100 % effective. I can't understand why anybody would go to the trouble of fermenting tomato seeds.

My method consists of the following actions : When we eat an especially tasty tomato that we want to save seed from I keep most of the seeds in my mouth and then lick them onto a thin tissue (a fresh roll of toilet paper being ideal). You can easily space out the seeds on the paper with a bit of practise but I will get on average 40-50 seeds onto one sheet.
Then I let paper and seeds dry after writing down date, variety and possibly other details I want to remember on the paper. When fully dry this paper with seeds is stored in a small zip lock bag.

At planting time I fill a tray with compost and put the layer of tissue with the seeds on it on top of that compost. Put half an inch of compost op top, water and put in a warm place. I almost always get 100% germination and by the time the seedlings need to be potted on or transplanted all trace of toilet paper has disappeared.

This method saves a lot of time since you don't need to be scraping seeds of paper and afterwards you don't need to space out the seeds on their growing medium.

Unfortunately there seems to be a quite general taboo against the word toilet paper that will close most peoples mind to what I have written here.
